I've been talking this up for a couple of years now. My vision is of community living in a network of residences - all over the planet really. Each place would be engaged in sustainable householding which means growing food and cottage industry suitable to that location. The community would include scholars and artists and activists and others who are committed to the transformation of the planet. It could also provide dignified and equitable employment and affordable housing to others who are just interested and open to exploring a new way. For some, it could just be a retreat or sanctuary. Sometimes, when I think about where the money's going to come from, I call it Give/Buy Back the Planet because fundamentally it is about overcoming the notion that the planet is available for private ownership with the truth that it belongs to the commonwealth of compassion in which each and every human being arrived and coming is welcome. The private enclosure of land and charging of rent is ultimately inconsistent with the commitment that each and all shall have a safe place to lie down with loved ones at night and get up to work and play and generally live a human life during the day. xoxoxoxo I’m so in.
